Our History
A four generation insurance family. Serving Indiana and Illinois folks for nearly 100 years.
In 1923, George C. Rogge decided to leave his job in the Gary steel mills and start an insurance agency. His business grew and prospered, in part, because he enjoyed walking the three miles down Broadway’s business district in Gary nearly every day, greeting his clients by name. Everyone loved George Rogge.
Gary experienced the “City of the Century” days of tremendous growth and prosperity, becoming the largest city founded in 20th century America. George’s company, under the direction of sons Don and Bill, prospered in similar fashion.
Don’s son, George A. Rogge, worked alongside his father to learn the business. Under George’s direction, the company entered the computer age. In 1978, he moved to the office in Merrillville's Gary National Bank. After 30 yrs., the office moved to the historical Boyd House at 1500 E 73rd Avenue.
George’s great grandson, Douglas A Rogge, continues in the family tradition. His technological advances guided the agency into the 21st century.
